December 2018/January 2019 – Silent Auction Recap

We did it! Thanks to your generosity, we exceeded our fundraising goal for the auction and raised $5,300. We are so excited that we will be able to continue to give out scholarships to deserving high school and college students in 2019! Please come to the July meeting where we award those scholarships, and if you know a deserving student, applications will be going out in the new year.

A special thanks to the Saint Louis Science Center for hosting the auction. We were so lucky to have a lot of space, and were able to add carnival games this year. Our generous sponsor, American Carnival Mart, came through with two games for us, Bottle Up and Bowling, and we hear everyone enjoyed the addition, so thank you to American Carnival Mart! Congratulations to all the winners, specifically Casey Jolley for winning the Season Pass, Cheryl Haney for winning the Lottery Tree (for the second year in a row!), and Crystal Clark for winning the Silver Ticket. We thank you for your participation, and donations to the auction.

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to assist with the auction. My co-chairs, Tyler Huth and Sara Modray, were invaluable to getting the auction set-up and organized. A special shout out to Michelle Webb for organizing our signage and assisting with set-up and tear down. And of course, thank you to the SLAA Board for their help in the execution of the event.

As we close out the year, we want to thank you for all your contributions to not only the auction, but our trip raffles throughout the year. We raise money all year for the scholarship fund, and we appreciate the donations. And (because we need them!), we are always accepting donations for next year’s trip raffles. Thanks for a great year, we look forward to seeing you at the January meeting!
