It’s an adventure 250 years in the making – the City of Saint Charles is having their Sestercentennial Celebration. Join us on May 18th and 19th for a city-wide celebration beginning with a parade Saturday morning which will be a living timeline representing a decade of history. Throughout the weekend, Main Street will feature displays, activities, and you may even meet some famous Saint Charles figures portraying their specific moment in history. Frontier Park will feature an authentic encampment, plus you’ll be able to watch a vintage baseball game. You’ll also see statues of Lewis and Clark’s famous dog, Seaman, all around the city. These three-foot tall depictions of the famous Newfoundland will be on display at various locations throughout the city for all to see. Plus, you can join the “Flat Lewis & Clark” adventure by printing and coloring your own “Flat Lewis & Clark” and taking them on your adventures in 2019. Saint Charles, Missouri, has been selected as a top retirement destination by Where to Retire, the only magazine in America geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. The city will be featured in their March/April 2019 issue.
All Aboard the Saint Charles Trolley! The Trolley resumes operation for the 2019 season on April 1. This is a convenient way to experience much of what Saint Charles has to offer. Hop on and off at any of the designated stops and enjoy the complimentary narrated tour of the area.
Escape to the Historic Missouri Wine Country to watch art being created each day at various locations during Augusta’s Plein Air Art Festival April 24-May 5. Artists will complete their pieces in the tradition of Plein Air (outdoors), capturing the nuances of natural light in their work. Then the art completed will be on display and available for sale from over 150 artists.
What’s New? Good News Brewing will be opening their 2nd location in Defiance early spring. This location will be conveniently located along the Katy Trail and include their pizza oven and coffee house. Salt + Smoke is bringing their St. Louis style BBQ to Saint Charles this spring. This restaurant, located at 501 South Main Street, will feature indoor seating, as well as a large outdoor seating area.
