Our members at ILLINOISouth Tourism have some exciting news to share from the Illinois Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Chicago. The event was held in the first week of December and featured the ‘Excellence in Tourism’ awards. There are 37 tourism bureaus throughout the state who submit content for 8 different categories, and there is a 9th category for ‘Best of Show.’ The crew at ILLINOISouth brought home two different awards! The first was for ‘Best Event or Festival’ – ILLINOISouth and World Wide Technology Raceway won the category for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race that was held back in June. ILLINOISouth was also honored as ‘Best of Show’ which is given to the bureau with the highest score across all categories!
