Carole Moody Scholarship

The Saint Louis Attractions Association has been awarding scholarships to qualified students interested in pursuing careers in the tourism and hospitality industry since 1991. The Carole Moody Scholarship is named for founding Attractions Association member Carole Moody, in recognition of her nearly 30 years of contributions to the tourism and hospitality industry. We are honored to carry on Carole’s memory and spirit through this program. Click here to make a donation to the scholarship fund.

This scholarship is open to any undergraduate college student or high school senior entering college majoring in a field that could contribute to the tourism/hospitality industry and maintaining a 3.0 or B grade point average. In addition, the student must have accomplished one of the following:

  1. Work in the industry for a SLAA member
  2. Completed an internship with a SLAA member
  3. Be a current member of SLAA (student memberships are available)
  4. Be a family member of a SLAA member
  5. Belong to a hospitality organization

One or more students are awarded a scholarship in the amount of at least $1,000. One or more students may be awarded an Honorable Mention Award in the amount of $500.

Internship Opportunities

Internship opportunities from SLAA members are organized into a digital booklet that is made available to high schools and colleges in the metropolitan St. Louis area. This is a wonderful opportunity to give a student an amazing experience in the St. Louis tourism industry.

Auction

Help Make the 2022 Auction a Success – Donate an Item! The SLAA Annual Auction is one of the most popular events each year, thanks to the generosity of our members. This year we’re taking the auction online again – help us make this year better than ever by donating an item! Would your company consider making a donation to support our efforts? Items as varied as gift certificates, complimentary passes or tickets, merchandise, gift baskets, private tours, services and more are sought to create exciting auction items.

A portion of the proceeds from the auction benefit the Carole Moody Scholarship Fund, which awarded annually to a high school senior or undergraduate college student majoring in a field that contributes to the tourism/hospitality industry.

Donations are being accepted now through Friday, October 7th. We strongly encourage all SLAA members to donate a product, service, or special VIP experience.
